Rally New Zealand 2010
Re: Rally New Zealand 2010
Kimi is probably in Switzerland, relaxing in his home.
(It was decided at the beginning of the WRC season that the Citroen Junior team would not take part in NZ because of the costs involved. Then they cost Ogier a podium in Jordan due to team tactics and they decided to let Ogier to go NZ to make up for it, but not Kimi.)

Rally New Zealand stage guides - Saturday
The second day of Rally New Zealand takes competitors south-west of Auckland to the Franklin and northern Waikato areas and to stages last used in 2008.
All the country stages are mixed surface - gravel and asphalt - and the day also includes two all-asphalt tests at the Hampton Downs motor racing circuit.
After leaving the Auckland Service Park from 0600hrs, crews will tackle a loop of three countryside stages and the Hampton Downs Super Special before a remote 15-minute service within the circuit complex. In the afternoon crews will tackle the same loop before heading back to Queens Wharf in Auckland for a day-closing 45-minute service from 1713hrs.
SS10/SS14: New Franklin. 20.82km
The first nine kilometres of New Franklin are on an asphalt road that's fast and flowing with lots of crests. There are plenty of places to cut corners here but push the tyres too hard on the abrasive asphalt and drivers could be in trouble later on. After the asphalt the stage turns hairpin left onto gravel. Like most of Saturday's southern stages, the road features a hard base covered with a coarser type of gravel than the finer - almost sandy - covering of Friday's roads. It's a twisty, technical piece of road which stays medium fast until the flying finish.
SS11/SS15: Baker. 21.42km
Baker is exceptionally twisty and features 90-degree left and right hand bends in quick succession all the way from start to finish. It’s a classic Rally New Zealand challenge that runs though open countryside with tall elephant grass by the roadside. Compared to New Franklin, Baker has more of a soil base to the road, which will quickly turn muddy and slippery if it rains.
SS12/SS16: Te Akau Coast. 30.89km
Saturday's longest stage, Te Akau can be split into three sections: It starts fast, then goes tight and twisty in the middle, then speeds up again for a flat out 12km blast to the finish. The middle section is quite technical with lots of deceptive corners hidden over crests.
SS13/SS17: SSS Hampton Downs. 4.68km
Hampton Downs is a brand new motor racing complex and the stage is two laps of the main circuit. The track is very hilly, with plenty of dips and crests and features a perfectly smooth asphalt surface that looks brand new. Cars tackle the stage one at a time starting from the pit lane.
