Statement from Renault:
"After undergoing extensive medical checks this morning, Robert Kubica has been diagnosed with multiple fractures to his right arm, leg and hand. He is currently undergoing surgery at the Santa Corona Hospital in Pietra Ligure.

“Robert suffered a high-speed accident this morning while competing in the Ronde di Andora Rally.

“Daniel Morelli, Robert’s manager, will be available for the press in front of the hospital emergency entrance at 16h30 CET.

“Lotus Renault GP driver, Robert Kubica, suffered an accident at high speed this morning while competing in the Ronde di Andora Rally.

“The driver was airlifted to Pietra Ligure Hospital, where he is currently undergoing medical checks. His co-driver is fine.”

Cause of the accident Robert Kubica during the rally car Ronde di Andorra was wet asphalt and its bulging because of the protruding root of the tree - said the Italian news agency ANSA.

Formula 1 driver in the hospital undergoing an operation in the village of Pietra Ligure, near Savona.

According to witnesses of the accident, conducted by Kubica Skoda Fabia S2000 broke away from the pavement on the corner, turned by 80 degrees, and then struck the left side of the barrier and fell on her passing through the wall of the church.

The car was confiscated by the police in order to determine the exact cause of the accident.

Those news about the crash barrier make me very, very nervous because of something that happened in my family. I just wish, I really wish Kubica all the best. The boy is made of steel and is a fighter.

(AGI) - Savona - 6 feb. - E' iniziato poco fa l'intervento chirurgico a cui e' stato deciso di sottoporre Robert Kubica, il pilota polacco 26enne di Formula 1 della scuderia Renault, rimasto gravemente ferito questa mattina poco prima dell'inizio delle prove del 2° Rally "Ronde di Andora - Memorial Roberto Melotto".
Kubica, ricoverato all'ospedale Santa Corona di Pietra Ligure, e' in sala operatoria dove viene sottoposto ad un delicato intervento chirurgico per cercare di salvargli il braccio destro e la mano. L'intervento e' condotto da Igor Rossello primario del Centro Regionale di Chirurgia della Mano dell'Ospedale San Paolo di Savona. A complicare ulteriormente la situazione c'e' anche l'esito della Tac a cui e' stato sottoposto il pilota che ha evidenziato una vasta emorragia interna, oltre a una frattura al femore. Le condizioni di Kubica sono, quindi, considerate molto gravi.

More or less it says that Kubica is going through difficult surgery to try to save his right arm and hand. The surgeon is Igor Rosello. The situation is complicated because the TAC (tomography, I don't know the acronym in English) has revealed an important internal bleeding and a broken femur. His condition is considered to be very serious

internal bleeding sounds not good...
we are sure he has great medical team, so just hope everything will go well :pray:
