NOoo.... WRC Rocks !!

No we want him in F1 again, we really missed him :(
Let's see how the reporters in Monaco react to Kimi. Who could start a rumour there that Kimi is there to sign a contract with Red Bull :zz:

That would drive them crazy
Maybe that would put him off? The press starting writing stories and rumours that aren't true. Maybe if it all intensifies further in Monaco, he'll be reminded again of how much he dislikes that aspect of F1 and think 'oh screw it' and stay in WRC once and for all.

I hope that doesn't happen though :)

Good point, :O I personally feel that in a way Monaco could be a decider for Kimi which in my opinion wouldnt be a bad thing. He either signs on the dotted line his intention for F1 or continues to put his all into his rally career and grows as a rally driver. I may be wrong but I feel rally will win the day, after all for sheer speed he could still do INDY 5OO and Le Mans.

But would those give him the option of winning regularly which I guess F1 is a bit more likely to do?

guys, I think it's better to continue this discussion in the "speculation thread..." since we are already discussing this over there and keep this the rally news thread.... it's easier to follow :O

KIMI RÄIKKÖNEN'S EX-CHAPERONE DROVE RECKLESSLY IN JYVÄSKYLÄ

Luca Colajanni from Ferrari only got a fine for speeding over 65 km during Jyväskylä rally last summer.

According to the police Colajanni drove into the radar driving 115 km/h on a road with 50 km/h.

Colajanni's act was estimated to be a 42 days fine.

He will have to pay 1554 euros. On top of that Colajanni got a temporary driving suspension.

Colajanni's suspension is extraordinarily mild since normally speeding over 50 km/h are seen as gross acts. This time the police who stopped Colajanni made the decision that the act wasn't gross.

They also didn't file in the document that his act would have proved to be a serious neglectance.

44-year old Colajanni was caught on Thursday, the evening before the rally. The speeding limit was temporary. Colajanni didn't deny his act.

Sordo tipped to bounce back in Portugal

Citroen team manager Sven Smeets has backed Dani Sordo to return to form on the Portugal Rally at the end of the month, despite being recently upstaged by the Citroen Junior Team’s Sebastien Ogier.

In New Zealand Ogier once again outperformed Sordo – who retired in Turkey – and the Frenchman now leads Citroen’s official number two by 29 points in the drivers’ standings. Speculation has been rife that Sordo will be replaced by Ogier in the factory squad next year, which team principal Olivier Quesnel has never denied.

But former co-driver Sven Smeets, who manages the Citroen Junior Team, has got behind Sordo, insisting that he will bounce back on the next round in Portugal.

“Dani was sometimes unhappy with the car and sometimes unhappy with himself in New Zealand,” added Smeets. “Now we’re going to Portugal and he really likes Portugal. He’s been a very, very good performer there in the past. We really hope that he can do in Portugal what Jari-Matti Latvala did in New Zealand.”

Despite not winning a stage, Latvala was quick and consistent throughout the Rally New Zealand to win the rally for Ford.
