2009 IndyCar Season

Post by swca92 » 05 Apr 2009, 18:48

Not sure how many here follow IndyCar,but I'm becoming a keen fan and there's plenty of interest for F1 fans.Justin Wilson has done well, there are two sons of champion racers in Graham Rahal and Marco Andretti, and Mike Conway along with Wilson provides British interest.Danica-mania and the rampant American commercialism can be irritating, but IndyCar is still well worth watching. Discuss it here.

Yeah Im just getting into IRL from last year really and it seems ok to me,i am currently trying to watch the qualifiers for Long Beach on Indycar.com but the damn page wont load,so thats that i guess.Yeah there are more British racers in IRL than in F1 which i never realised before.I recall Justin Wilson from his Minardi days so no wonder he went to Indycar.Nothing wrong with the lovely Danica :) anyway no idea why Sky sports show the race and not the qualifiers :(

Was a good race for a tight street circuit. It was similar to watching a Monaco GP with a few desperate lunges ending in disaster a few times.I notice these IRL cars do get a lot closer to each other on these street tracks too.Positions in this race were really dictated by clever pit strategy and good timing with the cautions which led to the end result rather than too much driver skills.

It's nice to look at, but it involves very much luck, because of the many safety car situations.
The cars go pretty fast though, and some drivers are really good. I don't know if I have the possibility to watch it live, but there should be because Boddy D races for us, haha.

Lets see how long it takes Danica to crash tomorrow.
