Indeed it was astonishing that he was that fast with that kind of problem, it was a kind of miracle. But still: He got the best S2 time of all, by 2-3 tenths or so :zz:

JA: "My mate Dave Freeman, chef at Brawn, proposed to his girlfriend Fatma using a pit board today. He planned it for months. She said 'Yes' "

I remember in Hungary 05 Schumi took pole by nearly a second (when we had single lap qualifying) and got beat in the race as he didn't have enough fuel to hold off Raikkonen. I think Hamilton would have won without problems, his pace before the retirement wasn't representative of his true pace.

Despite a fair amount of driver changes, Toyota were the only team to get 3 drivers in the points.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

Alonso fined for pit lane speeding
Spoiler:
Fernando Alonso's final disappointing weekend with the Renault team was compounded by a pit lane speeding penalty, handed out by race stewards five minutes before the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. The Spaniard was judged to have driven too quickly down the speed-limited lane before the start of the race.

With all cars leaving the pits approximately 20 minutes before the start of the Grand Prix in order to complete a reconnaissance lap before lining up on the grid for final pre-race preparations, the Renault driver exceeded the 100km/h (62mph) limit and was recorded travelling at 111.2km/h (69mph).

As a consequence, the FIA-appointed stewards issued a fine of €2,400 for a breach of article 30.12 of the sporting regulations. With each kilometre exceeded generating a fine of €200, the FIA added another €200 to account for the extra 0.2km.
