2009 Grosser Preis Santander German Grand Prix

The 2009 German Grand Prix will be the ninth race of the 2009 Formula One season. It will be held on July 12, 2009 at the Nürburgring in Nürburg, Germany.

Despite 6th place at the British Grand Prix, Jenson Button maintains a 23 point lead over Brawn GP team-mate Rubens Barrichello in the Drivers' Championship. Barrichello is 2 points further in front of Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel, winner of the British Grand Prix.

Brawn GP have a sizable lead of 30½ points in the Constructors' Championship with Red Bull Racing in second place. Toyota are 30 points behind the Austrian drinks company team, with only Force India yet to score a point.

The three former World Champions in the F1 field, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen and Lewis Hamilton are currently 9th, 10th and 11th in the Championship, with 11, 10 and 9 points respectively.

2008 Champion Lewis Hamilton won the 2008 German Grand Prix for McLaren–Mercedes, at Hockenheim. Former German Grand Prix winners in the field for 2009 include Fernando Alonso of Renault and Rubens Barrichello of Brawn GP. Barrichello and Alonso have also been successful at the Nürburgring when the circuit hosted the European Grand Prix. The Nürburgring has the unique honour of hosting 3 different Formula One Grands Prix; the German Grand Prix on the old track in the 1950s, 60s and 70s as well as on the current track in 1985; the European Grand Prix in 1984 and periodically in the 1990s and 2000s, and the Luxembourg Grand Prix in 1997 and 1998. After this year's race, Rubens Barrichello, Giancarlo Fisichella and Jarno Trulli will have raced all three at the circuit.
With an agreement in the FIA/FOTA war, we can get down to some racing

Finally it's there!!! !yahoo: Flag:##

Button win I think.. Really, really anxious to know what the McLaren updates will be.. And more importantly: how they will perform..

Boy-o-boy: 15 days left.. I will be sitting at the Ford-Kurve, in case someone is interested

BTW. I find it very interesting that there's no driver printed on the tickets , the previous editions there was always Schumacher printed on it, I expected Vettel this year, but there's no one on it, it's just plain white.. ''hmm''

Massive pressure on Vettel, he's Germany's only hope of a win and will be expected to perform. As its the Nurburgring weather is unpredictable so anything is possible.

BTW. Audi S has been renamed: It's now the Schumacher-S

I was there when Schumi opened that corner, 2007, Hamilton didn't like that corner :p

^Much better :p

Here are a few points of discussion:

1. Will Button return on the podium?
2. Can Vettel make it 2 wins in a row?
3. Can Vettel make it 2 poles in a row?
4. Where will Ferrari be this weekend?
5. Will Toyota be able to stay the 3rd fastest team on their home race?
6. Will the updates on the McLaren bring them something?
7. What will Rosberg, Heidfeld, Sutil and Glock achieve on their homeraces?

My view on these questions:
1. Yes
2. No
3. Yes
4. They'll be the 3rd fastest team I think
5. No, I think they will struggle this race.
6. 4rd fastest team, something like that I think
7. Maybe Rosberg will aim for pole, but that'll screwe his race :p The others will have the upper hand on their teammates I think. Although it will be close between Heidfeld and Kubica..

Can Fosters or Marlboro please sponsor a GP again?!

Santander just doesn´t sound right!
And they seem to sponsor every GP these days?

And by the way: I live 2 hours away from the Ring. But Spa is even closer, I live quite close to the dutch border, about 40 minutes.
