I Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Yas Island

Image

Code: Select all

Fri 30 October 2009
Friday Practice 1 13:00 - 14:30
Friday Practice 2 17:00 - 18:30
Sat 31 October 2009
Saturday Practice 14:00 - 15:00
Qualifying 17:00
Sun 01 November 2009
Race 17:00
So FP2, qualifying and the race will start light and end in the dark

Last race for
KERS
BMW
Fernando Alonso at Renault
Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari
Giancarlo Fisichella at Ferrari

Code: Select all

Champion: Jenson Button 89
02 Sebastian Vettel 74
03 Rubens Barrichello 72
04 Mark Webber 61.5
05 Lewis Hamilton 49
06 Kimi Räikkönen 48
07 Nico Rosberg 34.5
08 Jarno Trulli 30.5
09 Fernando Alonso 26
10 Timo Glock 24

Code: Select all

Champions: Brawn-Mercedes 161
02 RBR-Renault 135.5
03 McLaren-Mercedes 71
04 Ferrari 70
05 Toyota 54.5
06 Williams-Toyota 34.5
07 BMW Sauber 32
08 Renault 26
09 Force India-Mercedes 13
10 STR-Ferrari 7
So... the key questions:

*What will new Champions Button and Brawn achieve
*How will Lewis Hamilton fare in his last race as Champion
*What can Alonso, Kubica & Raikkonen do in their last races with their teams
*Will the pit lane exit claim any victims?

Yeah, this season hasn't left me satisfied. The excitement of last season meant that the off season wasn't to bad, but this year...

I'm sceptical about the track because it looks c**p, nothing massively special, but with everything (nearly) sorted, everyone will be going all out to do as best as possible, so overtaking is probable.

Abu Dhabi, probably the most pointless race in F1 history. I hope Button will help Rubens to get back his 2nd place in the championship. And hopefully Webber will do the same for Vettel. I expect a fight between the teams now. All fighting for their second driver.

Abu Dhabi should suit the Brawns with the whole general heat issue, as well as the nature of the track. I'd like to see a Brawn 1-2 though with Button winning and Hamilton 3rd. Chances of that happening = very low...

I don't know who said that, though.

It would be nice to see Kubica win, to see BMW go out in style.

Nelson Piquet (Sr.) used to say this.

No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

I think this is a KERS track, a very slow track, new track, difficult to pass; all the ingredients for a Hamilton win :D I'm really looking forward to this race.
