Rules wrote:3. If the pole setter gets a 10 place penalty, he still took pole for the purpose of this game
In the light of this rule, I'd assume penalties won't be accounted.
thank you- cleared that up okay!

Full credit to Hamilton, he outqualified Massa twice in a row now. Massa had been the best qualifier all year, but the last two qualifyings were really strong stuff from Hamilton. What I don´t understand is why Felipe lost both qualifyings in Fuji and China so clearly to Kimi. Felipe loosing his nerves or what´s going on?

I'm thinking, whats going on with Kimi. He qualified second again. It seems that he likes the final races of a season very much.
The last time he was on pole was in France.
Let's see if Hamilton can win from pole position tomorrow. I doubt that...

Q. Lewis, what do you think of that margin, 0.3s?

LH: I think we could have probably stuck even more fuel in it!
I think that McLaren is quite quick and not that light.

no.
he said in an post-quali interview that they had made last minute setup changes before quali - which gave the opposite effect and made his car basically undrivable. look at onboard shots from Q2 - he's had hard time to keep the junk on track! and now they cannot change the setup, of course.
he is done, he'll be lucky if he brings 1 point home.
[edit] unless it rains or we get another SC lottery...

"out qualified" ... we will know it tomorrow. In the last race we didn't get chance to know who was lite.

50% - 60% Rain/Thunderstorm chance according Force India.

These penalties are maddening, alienating and baffling.Where did they get a 3 place grid penalty from? A lucky dip? Your going to get traffic in qualifying,so I don't see why the FIA are handing out draconian penalties to drivers who slightly disadvantage others.Unless something is absolutely blatant or deliberate should penalties be issued. It was Silverstone when we last had a race weekend without penalties, and that's got to stop.

I woke up for quali but couldn't stay awake and saw the end of Q3, is Hamilton really light or is just ownage?
According to Ted Kravitz, Hamilton was light, but he's been wrong before. In my view, the best strategies (which obviously the championship contenders can't really pursue) would be heavier ones, given the predicted thunderstorms for the race..
Heavier strategies haven't really worked well this season and especially if there's difficult conditions such as thunderstorms, there will definitely be a safety car period at the first stint. Then they all come to the pits at the same time and the fuel strategy advantage some guys could have had gets flushed away.

Even if there wouldn't be a safety car, the leading driver can make a good 5-10 seconds gap and that will be enough. That's why lighter strategies work better if you can clinch the pole position.

But it only works if your able to keep tires in good condition for some Hot laps before pitting!.Mclaren have this problem of eating tires too quickly.Only thing that can help is low temperature or Ferrari also face the same problem.

I agree starting from pole position is advantage. If Kimi is lite than Hamilton ..kimi with good start would be able to pass him!.Massa should try take inside line!

Code: Select all

Lewis Hamilton 34% 34% [ 24 ]
Felipe Massa 34% 34% [ 24 ]

i dont think it is.
Well, kimi was the one who made no mistakes and lewis the one who made that huge mistake. Some problems faced my the drivers,
1) Massa having oversteer at turn 2
2) Lewis going wide before the back straight.
3) Massa braking very very early for the hairpin after the back straight
4) Hamilton with oversteer in the hairpin.

EDIT:I figured out it was not the final q3 lap. They were all using hard tyres in the video. This must have been from the outlap of q1. Because i noticed hamlton going wide before the straight in his outlap.
