Feel sorry for Alonso , He would definitely have been on the first or second rows
Alonso: "The race is lost. You can't overtake here and I'm starting from 15th, so I will be going out just to lap the track, but it's over already."

First time in 2 years?
yeah :D .

as Zack Mentioned Hamilton is running light , Massa is running lighter still.(Maybe by 2 laps)
Oh you mean both Williams then because Rosberg has been in the top ten this year (aus at the least). Wasn't very clear.

I think Alonso could have achieved more in Qualifying, he was best in saturday practice, so he maybe could have got into p5 or p6. Does somebody know, what happened to his car ?

Yes, that is what he meant. Neither Wurz nor Naka have managed it beofre this race. The last time that both Williams managed to get into Q3 was the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix.

@ Arrows_F1, it looks like a fuel pick up failure.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

It's the first time in many years I see Fernando Alonso very frustrating like that! Even in Hungary 2 years ago he wasn't like that!
Nice qualifying session to watch, I hope the race will not be a repeat of the Valencia one... At least, driving at night is spectacular!

Thank you :D

I think Street Circuits relly fit to the Williams cars. Remember 2006 in Monaco, Webber qualified 2nd and Rosber 5th i think. I think they will score some valuable points tomorrow...

Yeah you're right, in Australia, Rosberg finished 3rd, in Canada he was well placed before crashing in the pits (!)

You're right about that. I think Valencia was Williams last pionts score, and at Monaco 2006 they were 2nd and 8th. They were 3rd with Webber in 2005 too, in Quali, and finished 2nd with Nick and third with Webbo.

Street circuits (do Melbourne and Canada count?) are definately Williams modern forte.

i think Melbourne counts half, but Canada isn't a street circuit in my opinion

Williams' results at street circuits (Monaco and Australia) in recent times:

(AUS result/MON result)

2007 (7-DNF/12-7)
2006 (DNF-DNF/DNF-DNF)
2005 (5-DNF/3-2)
2004 (5-4/4-10)
2003 (2-8/1-4)

Well, if it is that then, Nakajima is not going to stop is he?

Heidfeld hit with grid penalty

Nick Heidfeld will lose three places on the grid of tomorrow's Singapore Grand Prix after being hit with a penalty.

The German driver, who had qualified in sixth position, will now drop to ninth after the stewards deemed he had impeded Honda's Rubens Barrichello during the first qualifying segment.

The incident occurred when Barrichello caught up with Heidfeld when the BMW Sauber driver was coming into the pitlane.

Barrichello, meanwhile, was fined 10,000 Euro for not using the deceleration zone when diving into the pits after being slowed down by Heidfeld.

I think Nakajima is on a one stopper, Massa on a 3 stopper and Hamilton and Raikkonen on a 2 stopper.
