If we consider Button and Alonso were lighter than others, Ferrari seem to have the upper hand. The more track and ambient temp, the better the Reds. Also remember, P2 session is being held at the same time with the race so it 's a kind of small race simulation.

Let's hope not! Rivers of blood would flow over the streets of Valenciaiceman1 wrote:wonder if alonso's investigation will result in anything Ban Himfclen wrote:Now to wait and see what drama happens over Alonso cutting the pit entrance...
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 European Grand Prix
I don't really think there was much up with Alonso cutting the pit entrance. Everyone cuts the entrance in Nurburgring and it's fine.

He'll get a fine, I'm fairly sure. But he won't get a ban or a grid penalty or anything stupid (I hope). It's a triviality, like missing the start of a driver's parade. It didn't cause any danger for anyone else, it just looked like he messed up on the final corner and decided to give it a rest, or maybe it was a late pitcall.iceman1 wrote:wonder if alonso's investigation will result in anything Ban Himfclen wrote:Now to wait and see what drama happens over Alonso cutting the pit entrance...
Kovy did something like it at Oz behind the SC, and at Barca, everyone cuts the pitlane entrance.. So should just be a fine.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.
Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 European Grand Prix
Everyone cuts the white line but the only time I remember anyone cutting the no mans land is Kimi at Europe 2007 which was understandable. Considering it was pissing it down.TwistedArmco wrote:He'll get a fine, I'm fairly sure. But he won't get a ban or a grid penalty or anything stupid (I hope). Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 European Grand Prix
Quite Boring Practice...
The only two interesting things were:
1) The Almost Crash of Rosberg
2) Some teams going under 1:40....
I should have taped the practice to watch it when I cannot fall asleep.
Anyway.. It's a new (quite dirty) circuit... there is a long way to go yet...
I wonder two things:
1 ) The entrance to the pits is before a breaking zone (last curve) ... If two cars are going together and the second one enters to pit, it would slow down more than usual to respect the breaking zone of the car that is before it. Maybe there they should have consider a different path to enter to the pits...
2 ) There is almost just one path to follow... during the overtaking they are going to run over the dirty part.... I think we will see some lack of control there...
And one last thing: Briatore probably had a circus before, because he knows how to give what people want. Certainly that Alonso's fast lap was only to make spaniards happy. Probably he will get some points here, but the second place is not his place at all. Same thing happened in Barcelona, same thing happended in France, and same thing will happen in brazil with piquet. At least in some moment, he will be one of the fastest. Briatore philosophy is "If you cannot give them what they want at least give them a taste of it... They will be happy anyway"...

Re: 2008 FORMULA 1 European Grand Prix
I agree with the pits entrance. We may see some funny stuff there on Sunday.
Other than that, I am a tiny bit disappointed by the mclarens speed.
They run over 6km per hour slower on the straight than Ferrari if I´m correct.
I had expected to see a better run from both Heikki and Lewis.
Or is it too early to say that?
anyway, I´m looking forward to tomorrow,
