2008 British Grand Prix is the ninth race of the 2008 Formula One season. It is to be held on 4 July–6 July at Silverstone, England. It will be the 59th British Grand Prix which has been an event in a world championship. The British Grand Prix will once again be sponsored by Santander. The event is a complete sell out for all sessions.
French Grand Prix winner Felipe Massa leads the Drivers' Championship for Ferrari by 2 points from Robert Kubica of BMW Sauber. World Champion Kimi Räikkönen is 5 points behind team-mate Massa, with home driver Lewis Hamilton a further 5 points back for McLaren.

After dominating the 2008 French Grand Prix, Scuderia Ferrari lead the Constructors' Championship by 17 points from BMW Sauber. Force India are the only team yet to score points in the Championship.

Four former British Grand Prix winners will be in the field this year. Kimi Räikkönen won the race in 2007 on his way to the World Title. Fernando Alonso of Renault won the World Title the previous year after a British Grand Prix win. Honda's Rubens Barrichello won the race whilst at Ferrari in 2003 British Grand Prix whilst home favourite David Coulthard of Red Bull Racing won the British Grand Prix for McLaren in 1999 and in 2000. He is the last Brit to win the race. The last Englishman to win the race was Johnny Herbert in 1995.

Ferrari have won 15 World Championship British Grand Prix, including 5 of the last 10. Only Renault have stopped Ferrari and McLaren from winning in the last decade. McLaren's last win in Britain came from Juan Pablo Montoya in 2005.

Kimi will win it, he likes this track very much...
The main challenger would be Hamilton, but I think nobody can stop Kimi there...

Did you get one of those roving tickets that let you sit in any grandstand on Friday and Saturday?

Lovely GP, I remember Montoya winning this one : @Hug , his start.. still tears in my eyes, what an absolutely worldclass start was that, absolutely haven't seen sonmething like that !yahoo: Flag:## . But Fernando was also quick back then, he was hold up by Trulli, think Monty wouldn't won that one, with Trulli listening to the blue flag, but.. never mind Absolutely LOVELY!!

But OK, 2008 and McLaren isn't as strong as 2005, but the are reliable though :p :nosweat: , I think it will be close, but we'll see a Ferrari to take the win here. Hamilton will fight so hard, he'll can't come out of bed the other day.. I hope :nosweat: . But I really expect 2 Ferrari's on the podium..

Behind that, I think maybe Kova can fight with Massa, but I also think that Massa will take the podium. BMW and Toyota will be close to each other, but I also expect a high qualification position for Rosberg. Because it's the home race for Williams, of course. Fernando? Dunno what to expect from him..

Have fun Phil!! Make lots of photos

77 days left, before I will travel 1000km to Monza....

i hope will travel 2125 km to monza!!!!
and i hope will see the ferrari victory at home with kim!!!! Flag:##
the british GP is a special GP too...fantastic circuit with fastest curves very dificults...
if kimi don't have problems in this GP he will win this race...
in 8 races he has 5 fastest laps, and 2 loose because e don't need push sow much; to win in sepang and finish in second on bahrain...very fast but with same mistakes(kimi and ferrari) and bad luck didn't win more GP'S
Go kimi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !yahoo:

yeah i agree but last year we dont got chance to see kimi v/s massa ..as he stalled it! Had to fight back which was indeed very was impressive and this year its pretty tough to judge him! so ...
Probably we'll see mix up in top teams & particularly drivers .. Kimi,Massa,Hamilton & Kubica.
Other than top teams i m expecting STR (at least Vettel)will be quick here!
Its like home race for Force India Team ... i hope they do well :cheezy:

which is your grandstand? As most of them have roving seat facility for Fri & Sat.

I was there last year and my ticket was at Stowe (I recommend that grandstand) but I also went to Woodcote and Copse.
I also was on the main strait stand after the race, for the hitoric cars race. Try to see the start of some race from there or from Woodcote. The sound is awsome there.

I've got Stowe C booked for the race, but was thinking of going on Hangar Straight for some of practice.
Any other you'd reccomend?
