- Wikipedia.orgThe 2008 French Grand Prix is the eighth race of the 2008 Formula One season. It will be held on 20 June–22 June at Magny-Cours.
Canadian Grand Prix winner Robert Kubica of BMW Sauber leads the Championship by 4 points from Ferrari's Felipe Massa and McLaren-Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton. 2 consecutive retirements have seen World Champion Kimi Räikkönen fall from Championship leader to 4th, 3 points behind Massa and Hamilton.
Scuderia Ferrari lead surprise package BMW Sauber by 3 points in the Constructors' Championship, with McLaren-Mercedes a further 17 points behind.
The 2007 French Grand Prix was won by Kimi Räikkönen of Ferrari, followed by team-mate Felipe Massa and Lewis Hamilton of McLaren-Mercedes[1].
Two other former winners of the French Grand Prix are in the field for the race this year, 2000 winner David Coulthard will race for Red Bull Racing and 2005 winner Fernando Alonso will drive a Renault.
The majority of French Grand Prix wins since 1994 have gone to seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher who won this Grand Prix 8 out of the next 12 years that he raced. The race has been won by a European driver since 1985, when Brazillian Nelson Piquet won for Brabham. His son will race for Renault this year.
Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton will be docked ten places on the grid for the race after causing a collision with Kimi Räikkönen in the previous round, the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix.[2]

To start off the discussion, who will have the upper hand? Ferrari is always good here but the McLaren is good on the sweeping corners this year (does Magny Cours have them? I forgot ).
