(Provisional) Qualifying positions:

1 Hamilton (by 0.612secs)- amazing lap
2 Kubica
3 Raikkonen
4 Alonso
5 Rosberg
6 Massa
7 Kovalainen
8 Heidfeld
9 Barrichello
10 Webber

Very strange qualifying session, Massa only 6th and Raikkone on row 2

Any idea about Fuel loads? I would be surprised McLaren is so much faster than Ferrari with same fuel.

Haha, you're obviously the faster one, so... :p

It's going to be an interesting race tomorrow with this tarmac breakup. I'm really hoping for Kubica for the race win. The guy really should win a race soon. I see that there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorms tomorrow too. Another wet race would be really interesting! :)

Fuel loads, i think Hamilton and Kubica are the same, Kimi is light and Massa and Heidfeld and Kovalainen are heavy

We can only predict

fuel load - low to high
Hamilton ..but still brilliant lap but not perfect.
Alonso
Kubica
Kimi
Massa
Heikki

"It was an incredible lap. I mean, I kind of thought Robert was looking strong and I suspected that he might come strong in the last period, but that was a pressure lap wasn't it and Lewis kept it together so I think it was incredible for him and incredible for the team too. Good team work. " -Anthony Hamilton

btw ..i m bit surprise to see Ferrari struggling

i know .. my predictions :p :nosweat:

Kimi is heavier than anyone in front of him. But we'll see what happen tomorrow.

i dont think some of the fuel loads really matter, as some of them will get screwed up by the safety car and we could have a surprise podium like last year

Ferrari fails at the last sector. :p Kimi complained about turn 10 and the circuit also breaks up very fast. But it didn't seem to hinder Hamilton's performance much. It's probably the top speeds that were crucial and oddly Hamilton's top speed was far superior, even to Heikki who has the same car, but probably messed up setup or something.

Kubica and Alonso did some nice laps and Alonso was fast in Q1 and Q2 already. As for Piquet... oh no no no. I was also surprised to see Massa failing in Q3, but this track just doesn't seem to suit him.

It'll be interesting to see who's going to win at the SC periods and which of the three has the best strategy.

I agree. Don't think fuel load as much relevance when it is very probable the presence of SC periods. So teams shouldn't use fuel strategy much, imo

btw, Alonso's betting on that, he's probably the lighter of the front runners, waiting for SC. Nice strategy, can get some results.

What's up with Heidfeld? He's been constantly behind kubica, and far behind in qualis. Is kubica that much better?

Piquet out. "Job for the boys"? :p

Too good. At times like this, I get my 2005 and 2006 F1 books out and look at all of the pretty pictures of blue and yellow Renaults crossing fnish lines first. Mind you, Alonso, though probably light, had one hell of a quali.
No, I'm not calmer. Just more jaded.

i think people should lay off piquet for a while, Alonso only has 9pts, so give the boy until at least Hockenheim- the problem is, who can replace him? Sato, Davidson- i would pick Davy, Di Grassi or Yamamoto and i think Piquet should be top priority over those two. if it is a crazy race tomorrow, it could be his chance to shine

For people who watched ITV, did anyone else notice Martin getting a bit arsey with James when he needlessly pointed out Micheal Douglas saying to James in a what do you want tone?
