Alonso is on fumes...
It will be another Kimi/ Massa/ Kubi podium, unless Kubi f&%ks up the start again (which is quite possible) and let Maccas pass...

Fernando Alonso’s 1′21.904 lap looked immaculate but even taking into account the progress Renault have made since Bahrain, it looked like it might be fuel assisted. Pat Symonds did concede that “there was some strategy involved”.

no chances for Alonso  Renault just can't keep up w/ Ferrari/Beemer race pace.
he'll be in pits for fuel after 15 laps max.
Kimi/ Massa podium tomorrow seems inevitable  , with Kubi 3rd...
Maccas are surprisingly slow.

After the Barca Testing Renault/Alonso were Happy.
Light on fuel to steal pole is one thing but I don't think they could have even attempted that at any of the first 3 races in 2008
I hope They can Mix it with the Ferrari & Mclaren

But on the other hand why wouldn't you make your car light to steal the pole or atleast try, because you nou get in the picture. If he would have normal fuel than he would be aroun P7 or something so I think its good what they did.

Don't think they can iceman, I think they even won't be able to race the BMWs, think they must hope for plac 6-7 or so. Race prediction:
1. Kimi
2. Massa
3. Hamilton
4. Kubica
5. Kova
6. Heidfeld

Yeah, it makes sense, just imagine if Alonso would grab pole position in Spain, after such dificult races early on. It would be great marketing, more tickets sold tomorow and so on, but even so with this result it`s a boost confidence for the team, encouraging them to work even harder. I was surprised by the macca`s grid positions, and Kubica once again showing he`s at a great moment, really fast, good chances for the podum and more points to get away from Mclaren, although they will be strong in the race i believe, both drivers on the same pace. I agree with you Joost, i would be really surprised to see Alonso fighting for the podium.

MP4, while I agree that they would gain popularity if Renault/Alonso took pole in Spain, but why would they (renault) care if more tickets were sold on race day?
OK, more Alonso fans would came, but this isn't a basketball game...
Or am I missing something here?

Just wondering...

Cheers!

No you`re not missing anything, i was just pointing one of the many positives things if Alonso would be in pole, i`m sure the track would be ( and maybe it will) completely sold out for tomorow`s race. It`s not Renault who cares, but maybe Alonso wants to shine and show to everyone specially in his own country, that progress have been made.
