2008 FORMULA 1™ Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix

Post by Zack » 24 Mar 2008, 04:18

2008 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix

After a rather dull race at Malaysia which put the Championship competitors closer together, we will see what the Bahrain Grand Prix will bring us.

Image

Questions:
Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
Can Massa finally get a good result?
What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
Will there be rain?
Who crash into the barriers again?

and don't forget to add your thoughts .. :nosweat:

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
They probably can, but I think McLaren will be closer to them.

Can Massa finally get a good result?
Hope not :P nah, he probably will.

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
They might just upset everyone and get their first win.

Will there be rain?
Doubt it.

Who crash into the barriers again?
Probably the #2 driver for ferrari or Nakajima

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?

Yes I think so thay can, and maybe more dominantly as they were very quick during winter testing in Bahrain. So must have collected some valuable data from it. And the Ferrari was very quick & reliable as well.

Can Massa finally get a good result?

Probably yes , as I have seen usually after bad races he bounces back well. But he will has to keep his cool and think wisely.Only getting pole position is not enough. You have to get points as well.

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?

A very vital role as they are looking reliable and consistent. Even if they cannot match the pace of McLaren or Ferrari they have the ability to keep them at bay if they are ahead of ant of these cars.Which can play an outcome at the result for the constructors as well as the drivers championship.

Will there be rain?

I dont think so.As i also reside in the middle east the season is very hot , humid & dry.

Who crash into the barriers again?

Maybe sutil or Nakajima. Sutil has not been consitent and tries new things to get ahead of other cars which costs him the full race. And for Nakajima he has a good car but maybe lesser knowledge of the circuit can cost him.Plus there are a few tricky turns where the best drivers makes mistakes. So we can expect one or two from him as well.

Ferrari had a stunning pace during winter testing - 2seconds quicker than Massas 07 pole lap. It should be a Ferrari 1-2 (if Massa keeps it on the road), with McLaren 3rd or 4th. I think Webber might bag a good result

I expect Ferrari 1 - 2 (KR - Massa) and Massa is instructed to target finishing the race without trying too hard. He can learn from KR' turkey race, where he just followed Massa to finish. He quoted saying "there is no point in racing your team mate." That is what is called team spirit. Kudos to KR. And Massa did same in Brasil 07, but seems not too happy about it.

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
Definately they can. Although this track requieres a bit more speed for the straights and bit of less wing I think is this track and Malaysia are somewhat similar, so it it should be a good circuit for Ferrari on paper.

Can Massa finally get a good result?
Yes, and I believe he will do. His main problem will be this next week of (maybe deserved) trash talking towards him, but I hope he can handle the pressure and score a lot of points for Ferrari with a podium finish.

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
I think the same I said for Ferrari can be said to BMW. I expect them to fight with the McLarens.

Will there be rain?
No! Poor Massa if it rains! hehe

Who crash into the barriers again?
Errr... no one. :cheezy:

Hmm.. I don't think it's very likely to have a wet weather race in Bahrain. Isn't most of the country just.. desert?

Should be a good one, as the track really has some good overtaking places.

they have good overtaking places, but you have to be very close to pass, so there is never much overtaking

Well, F1 is no exception to that. Yes, you have to be very close to pass.:

Most of the turns leading to the long straights are relatively slow-speed ones. That makes it a bit less of an effort for the driver chasing to get closer.

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
Well maybe but I think that Mclaren will be closer now.

Can Massa finally get a good result?
I think so if not he has to do great things for the rest of the season and if he doesn't he might go look for a other team.

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
I hope they can fight for the win with Mclaren and ferrari

Will there be rain?
Bahrain? desert? rain?

Who crash into the barriers again?
Probably midfield by the start but it might be a clean race cuz the bariers arent that close.

I think Ferrari will have an advantage there because they had good results in the past and have done some testing this year!!!

Can Ferrari hold on to their performance at Malaysia?
I think so and hope so, after they tested here.

Can Massa finally get a good result?
After the critism this week, he will look for revanche.

What role is BMW Sauber going to play?
If Ferrari or Mclaren don`t have their act right, BMW Sauber will be ready.
And don`t forget the Panasonic Toyota team, who also did their wintertests in Bahrein.

Will there be rain?
No.

Who crash into the barriers again?
Anyone could lose control over his car.
