Bridgestone to mark extreme weather tyres
07 March 2008

Bridgestone has confirmed that its extreme wet weather tyre will be marked with a white line in the bottom of the central groove. This is in addition to marking the softer of the two dry tyre compounds at each race. The white tyre marking, which will be present from the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne onwards, has been introduced at the request of the teams and in consultation with the FIA to make Bridgestone's extreme wet weather tyres visibly distinguishable from the wet weather tyres when used on the track in the wet.

Hiroshi Yasukawa, director, Bridgestone Motorsport explained, "Throughout the 2008 Formula One season Bridgestone will continue to mark the softer of the two dry weather tyres at each event with a white line along the bottom of the second from inside groove. However, we will now extend the use of the white tyre marking to our extreme wet weather tyres. We hope this change will enable spectators of the sport to have a clearer understanding of the strategies used by all 11 Formula One teams when racing in the wet. Bridgestone is pleased to be able to play a part in increasing Formula One fans' enjoyment of the sport."

I read about that somewhere else, Zack. That's bad news.
They seemed to have some reliability problems throughout wintertesting, while the Macs seemed bulletproof yet again. Hope they get those problems fixed in due time

Yeah, that sounds bad, but I trust both Ferrari and Kimi. Kimi can do the job :cheezy:

Don't get me wrong - I like Kimi, he is a very talented driver.
But no driver can "do the job" when the gearbox fails... Some drivers learned it enough last season (i.e. both BMW drivers)

This weeks Autosport testing analysis (going on everything they knew about the cars and setups etc, not just the times) puts HK in front of Hamilton, which is interesting.
it shows that Ferrari and McLaren are virtually neck and neck, Ferrari having a slight edge through Raikkonen. The midfield is very densely packed and looks a reasonable distance behind Ferrari and McLaren. Out of them, Williams seem to edge it. At the back of the midfield pack is Toyota, in fact, Force India could be just ahead of them. A fair distance behind that section are Honda and even further back are Super Aguri.
