I wonder what it feels like being splattered with rubber and kevlar at 190mph.
Also, was Alonso's release deemed safe?

Re: Mercedes face protest over tyre testing
From Ross Brawn's interview with Eddie Jordan, it seems like he thinks the best tactic is to put the ball firmly in Pirelli's court ("It was a Pirelli test" x5). But he sounds shaky. Then again, so would I or anyone else, because it's not like they have a leg to stand on.

Re: Mercedes face protest over tyre testing
1) How was it cloak and dagger? Corse clienti are at set days set up by Ferrari for major customers and partners. Why do a press conference? Its nobodies business. If pirelli want to run a 3 season old car they can do as much as they want. Ferrari can so long as they sacrifice time in the wind tunn...

Re: Mercedes face protest over tyre testing
Well, no. You ' r e wrong. Way to state your case... Photographs were available on the day. The FIA would have to give consent for them to be able to corse clienti, which they already have permission as the rules state you are allowed to give a car over 2 years old and supply a driver along with a ...

Re: Mercedes face protest over tyre testing
Ferrari should probably have admitted this earlier. They could have paraded it as an example of them being all above board (UNLESS THEY BROKE THE RULES AND DIDN'T WANT TO DRAW ATTENTION TO IT) but instead it now comes out like a revelation and then they try to deflect by saying it's an irrelevant de...

Re: Rate the 2013 Monaco Grand Prix
1 - Best Driver Rosberg , honourable mention for Sutil. 2 - Best Team Mercedes did pretty well in controlling the race. By the sounds of it, it was probably Hamilton's mistake that he lost two places to the Red Bulls, so the worst part of the day wasn't even fully their fault. 3 - Best Overtake Per...

Re: I’m not sure that I really like the way F1 is progressin
I realize that the Mercedes test controversy has overshadowed this topic a little, but I'd be interested to see what everyone made of Monaco in relation to the tyres and the caution with which some teams approached the race (like Vettel holding off until lap pointless). It kind of seemed like a phan...

Re: Mercedes face protest over tyre testing
Ross Brawn: "The test was exactly what Pirelli wanted, they stipulated what we were doing." "We know they have a new tyre for Canada, but we don't know which of the tyres they tested was the tyre that they are bringing along to Canada. The tyres they tested were anonymous. It is not possible for us ...

Are they? Or is it simply poorer quality/less stable shots make it look better? I think they are better to watch exactly because of that. I know it's not F1, but I love this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWeLuglJr9I Today's cameras are great from a seeing what's happening point of view, but you'l...

Re: I’m not sure that I really like the way F1 is progressin
Even when people look back and say how awesome 1988/9 was. Well, yeah, maybe. But I sat through the 89 Japanese GP when they had 60 min highlights on the BBC and my god it was dull. I have a theory about this. 5 minute highlight programs from the early to mid-80s (especially with a deadpan Clive Ja...
