Re: Random Conversation I
Hello! It is bizarre to see places you regularly walk by and visit as the top story on the news. I went out earlier and saw a car on fire, a couple of shops smashed and hundreds of police police talking on their radios about where the looters (which they are, nothing to do with the death of that man...

Re: Grand Prix du Canada 2011
Great race though - excitement throughout and a great advert for F1 (the race, not the whole wait-till-it-stops-raining stuff).

Re: Grand Prix du Canada 2011
Knowing the FIA they'll probably give Button a drive-through penalty for some earlier incidents and ruin the whole race.
Also a race lasting four hours andfour minutes? Even in the fifties races didn't last that long.

Re: Grand Prix du Canada 2011
Given how horrible the weather is in the South-East of England today, it feels fitting Montreal gets the same.

Re: Grand Prix de Monaco 2011
Someone should have told Hamilton he wasn't driving bumper cars, he drove look like some idiot who's just passed his driving test and drives some old Vauxhall Corsa with massive speakers like a McLaren F1 car. His move on Maldonado was ridiculous, and he's lucky he was a lap ahead of everyone behind...

Re: 2011 Formula 1 Season - Official Discussion Thread
I'm guessing he's happy at McLaren, but is also happy to listen to offers and if he was offered lots and lots of money to go to Red Bull he would probably be happy to atleast consider the offer. He could flat out reject everything if he wanted to.

Re: Qantas Australian Grand Prix 2011
He was ahead going into the corner, but not enough to merit him getting away with it. If that's allowed then you'd see drivers braking way too late, cutting corners and getting away with it because they were "Ahead" going into the corner. His penalty was deserved.

Re: Qantas Australian Grand Prix 2011
I'm pretty sure it's a 'start only' KERS system That is indeed what I've heard. They only have enough battery for the start of the race, so they'll use their KERS at the start and have nothing left afterwards. The benefit of this is that their KERS system as a consquence is much lighter than the KE...

Re: Qantas Australian Grand Prix 2011
Observations: - Vettel was ominously dominant, very scary for the rest of the field. Doesn't mean anything yet though, in 1997 Villeneuve took pole by nearly two seconds then in the race was taken out by Irvine at the first corner after a terrible start. In 1999 and 2000 McLaren dominated qualifying...

Re: Qantas Australian Grand Prix 2011
Observations: - Virgin and HRT are unlikely to make the grid, both will not qualify due to the 107% rule. It won't even be close, either. - Where the hell have McLaren come from? Quickest in the second session. I don't think they're the pacesetters and they were probably running with less fuel than ...

Re: F1 2011 Predictions League [Win prizes]
The question about who's classified last is much harder now because of the 107% rule. You have to think about who will qualify before you predict who'll be classified last.

Hooray! I've come (I think) 2nd and 3rd the last two years. Time to win? Maybe I'm another Chris Amon.

What Lotus? Renault or old Lotus?
I'm not being entirely serious there but it shows how stupid that situation is.

Re: Formula One TV Coverage
Viewing figures have been excellent and have exceeded expectations. I think they're around five million on a good day, which in a nation of 60 million is very good, especially as it mostly takes place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons which aren't conducive to high viewing figures.
